Paper to Patch

This series of plantable publications transforms print into a living system. Each issue features a different fruit, vegetable, or native flower, printed on seed-embedded paper that can be torn, soaked, and planted to grow new life. Complete with care and harvest instructions, the collection encourages sustainable interaction, inviting readers to cultivate what they consume and reconnect design with the cycles of nature.

Paper to Patch is a series of three plantable paper pieces designed to visually and materially reflect the life they hold within. Each design: Russet PotatoesLemon Scented Bottlebrush, and Strawberries features a hand-illustrated, minimal graphic centred on textured, seed-embedded stock. The muted, earthy colour palette draws directly from the natural tones of each plant, creating an honest and grounded aesthetic. Simple typography with generous spacing reinforces the organic, considered nature of the project, allowing the illustrations to remain the focal point. The subtle grain of the paper and restrained composition echo the concept of growth and sustainability, ensuring the visual language aligns with the tactile, regenerative purpose of the pieces.
